The Welcome Experience

Helping essential workers relocate, settle in and become one of the locals.

What is the Welcome Experience?

The Welcome Experience is designed to facilitate, attract, prepare and welcome essential workers to regional, rural and remote NSW.

The program matches and connects new essential workers with local people and resources to help them settle in and feel at home in their new community faster. When people feel part of the community they live in, they have a better lifestyle experience helping them to stay in communities longer.

The Welcome Experience will support new essential workers to create their connection to community and their new home quickly and smoothly, helping to keep essential workers and their families in regional towns longer, delivering frontline services and building stronger communities.

Our organisation operates The Welcome Experience in Goulburn. The Welcome Experience in Goulburn connects you and your family with local people and local resources to help you settle in and feel at home in your new community faster.

Media

On the 31st of January, Premier Chris Minns came to Goulburn to announce the launch of the Make the Move campaign, of which The Welcome Experience is a key component. Minister for Regional NSW, Tara Moriarty and Firefighter, Jason McPherson, one of the Make the Move case studies, were with him.

Here is the first launch video for The Welcome Experience, showing all eight locations of The Welcome Experience – Bega, Broken Hill, Coffs Harbour, Corowa, Goulburn, Griffith, Muswellbrook and Walgett.

Firefighter and casual teacher, Jason shows a snapshot of what moving regionally could mean for you and your family. More space, opportunities, and time.
