What a year!
There goes another year… It’s been a busy and eventful year for RDA Southern Inland in 2018 and as we begin to wind down into holiday mode, I’d like to reflect on some of the highlights of 2018 and look ahead to 2019.
Visiting an Export Market
There are many ways to start exporting; some are accidental exports, an email, a phone call that leads to a random order to some place on the other side of the world and then all of a sudden, you’re an exporter.
The last Goulburn Connect of 2018 celebrated in style
The last Goulburn Connect of 2018 was held at The Collective on Tuesday night, with a strong crowd of 40 people attending the special Christmas get-together. Special guest speaker for the night was Joerris Noll from Tribe Breweries.
University of Newcastle bring their SMART Show to the Upper Lachlan
The University of Newcastle visited Crookwell Public School and Binda Public School last week to deliver their Science, Maths and Real Technology (SMART) Shows to students. Students in Years 3 to 6 at Crookwell Public School and Taralga Public School were part of the morning session.
Build ME a Future Day comes to Crookwell High School
Over 150 Year 7 and 8 students from Crookwell, Murrumburrah, Boorowa and Yass participated in the ‘Build me a Future Day’ on Thursday at Crookwell High School, with Yass High School winning the competition.
Rural Resilience on display at National Ag Day
With a crowd of over 100 people, Goulburn and surrounds gathered together at the Grace Milsom Centre in Goulburn, to celebrate National Agricultural Day on the 21 st of November.
Showcasing solutions to the toughest of agricultural problems
Two terms of hard work were celebrated on Wednesday 13 th November at Crookwell High School, with students from the high school and local primary schools showing off their Science Technology Engineering Maths (STEM) Projects.

Eleven innovative ideas heard at Pizza & Pitch
The inaugural Pizza & Pitch event, hosted by the Goulburn Regional Innovation Network, has been declared a success with eleven diverse business and social enterprise ideas ‘pitched’ to a large crowd last Wednesday night at The Collective.
Crookwell High School visit Gullen Range
On Thursday 25 th October, Gullen Range Wind and Solar Farm hosted Year 8 students from Crookwell High School. Throughout the morning, students immersed themselves in the renewable energy technology housed at Gullen Range Wind Farm.
Working together for the benefit of the region
On Monday 29th October, RDA Southern Inland and RDA ACT formalised their agreement to collaborate. The two RDAs have recently developed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), designed to establish a framework for implementing a program of cooperation on mutually-determined activities, related to regional economic development.

On Monday 15 th October, Nigel Hicks, Operations and Maintenance Manager at Crookwell 2 Wind Farm, and Camilla Staff, Project Officer at RDA Southern Inland, visited Binda and Bigga Public School to assist the students with their Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths (STEM) projects, as part of the STEM Industry School...
Uncovering new businesses for the region
The Goulburn Region Innovation Network (GRIN), are hosting the first ever 'Pizza and Pitch Fest' in Goulburn. 'Pizza and Pitch' is Goulburn’s very own local ‘Shark Tank’, just like on TV, but not quite as scary.

Local hospitality businesses pledge to reduce food waste
On Tuesday afternoon, Regional Development Australia Southern Inland (RDASI) launched their Your Business is Food Program in the Southern Highlands. Hospitality businesses from across the Highlands, including Mittagong, Bowral, Berrima and Exeter, attended the session.
